obligatory nba finals entry

yes, i know you were wondering, did i forget all about the nba finals?

no, not by a long shot, even though detroit’s out of it. but with two first time teams, who to root for? let’s break this down:

miami heat -
pros:

1. shaq - still love him, although a little less now that he’s in miami and a big detroit roadblock. still, who can hate the big lug?
   
2. jason williams - don’t we still love white chocolate?
   
3. gp - running on fumes and honestly past his prime, but coming up and hitting some huge shots
   
4. the heat dancers are about a million times hotter than the dallas ones.

cons:

1. antoine walker - terrible, selfish player. everything he does is annoying.
   
2. posey - floperama. like bruce bowen, but all he does is shoot threes and fall down.
   
3. zo - ok, sure you can root for him because of the kidney thing, but this pouter quit on the nets and then didn’t even report to toronto. another guy who doesn’t deserve a ring.
   
4. dwayne wade - holy shit. this guy is incredible. but it’s like jordan - do i root for a superstar on a rival team? it just makes me think of darko all over again.

dallas mavericks -
pros:

1. dirk - came up huge in the conference semis and the conference finals. but where the hell has he been since then?
   
2. josh howard - LOVE this guy.
   
3. stackhouse - i still love him for how he helped revitalize detroit. although don’t give him the ball in the clutch.
   
4. desagana diop - who would have thought that this guy would not only be a decent player, but now a crucial component of the team? are you kidding? this guy was a bust even in the begninning of the year!
   
5. cuban - yes, he’s outspoken and frequently annoying, but you’ve got to admire his dedication to the team and how he’s turned around this sad sack franchise.

cons:

1. dampier - great. another former warrior. thanks for playing soft for us, and now you’re on the verge of a ring?
   
2. van horn - really?

0 vs 3 = i guess i’m rooting for the mavs. maybe it’s also if shaq wins #4, then kobe falls behind. and don’t we love kobe more than shaq?

anyway, what an incredible game five. huge shots over and over by dwayne wade, and then the incredible shot by dirk. but then the foul called (how do you call that?!) giving wade the go-ahead free throws. still, no visitor has won away, so we’re technically on track. tuesday should be huge!
