weekend (weakened?) recap
- saw keren ann in the lovely intimate gould auditorium at the palace of the legion of honor. who knew they had an auditorium in the basement? she was quite lovely and charming, singing her quiet little french songs. it was just her on guitar and sometimes harmonica, and that fidgety trumpet player. we even saw her outside before/after the show, standing around, smoking a cigarette while elegantly dressed in a white leather coat, conservatively but beautifully cut. damn the french!
- notably, also at the show was adam savage from mythbusters. he was there with his two kids and some female wife/partner type. nothing blew up.
- went to a halloween party at e+j’s beathustler studio, where almost no one was dressed up. which would have been nice to know before we got there. alas, ended up seeing a lot of people from the past. maria the filmmaker, from the alan days. and sophia, who i met back at danger’s birthday party/knee fundraiser. who knew?
- saw kamikaze girls, which was pretty outrageous. hmc and i concur: “it’s like kung fu hustle. with embroidery.”
